To celebrate the millennium the committee added a special evening concert with fireworks to round off Carnival Day, this has remained in place over the following years. The evening is now one big "Party In The Park" and is enjoyed just as much as the afternoon carnival itself, and completes the day with a fantastic firework display.

Party In The Park

Party In The Park - from 6.30pm

The carnival evening is one big party and a great ending to carnival day! It’s a fantastic family friendly evening where the community spirit is on full display. You can bring your picnic to enjoy in the park or treat yourself to some excellent food from one of our hot food concessions. The Carnival Pub, The Pheasant Plucker, yes we will have a Pub in the carnival field, will be open all evening where you can enjoy a Pimms or a pint at very reasonable prices.

We have four fantastic bands performing during the evening so you can dance the night away. First up is 'Mike and The Rockbelly', they are a 3-piece band providing covers and originals inspired by Rockabilly, 50's/60's RnB, Indie, and Classic Rock. They will take on a trip through the decades enjoying some the best loved songs along the way.

'Ready or Not' are a fun and lively 7 piece band, who cover hits from across the decades to suit every generation. They are the life and soul of any party!

'Only The Poets' are a 4 piece indie pop band from Reading/London. Fresh off supporting the likes of The Hoosiers & Coasts, Only The Poets are on the verge of embarking on a national tour and playing lots of UK festivals this summer. Their debut single ‘Ceasefire’ was included in Apple Musics ‘Best Of The Week’ Playlist and they are excited to be releasing lots of new music this year. Listen to the boys on Spotify and follow them on their social media sites @onlythepoets

We welcome back our Headline Band. 'Madison Heights' are undoubtedly the most authentic motown and soul band to hit the stage, they deliver an energetic and exciting performance of classic hits by the legends of soul and motown. Inspired by the stage shows of the classic suited and booted Motown showbands, they deliver sharp and slick performances of classic songs by the legends of soul, including Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett, Etta James, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, James Brown, Aretha Franklin and Tina Turner

Our evening ends with a fantastic firework finale.
