The Wild West
This year's Woodley Community Carnival on the 11th June was a great success. With over 60 stalls, 50 classic cars and bikes, 400 people on the procession, 7 bands and over 15 minutes of fantastic fireworks to finish the event.
There was something for everyone. The afternoon raised lots of money for the charities supported by the stalls on the field. The gate money will cover the cost of the event and provide a moderate surplus to be shared between our 4 local chairmans nominated charities for 2016. They are The Woodley pre-school, Camp Mohawk; the woodland centre trust, Multiple sclerosis therapy centre Berkshire and me 2 club.
We were thrilled with the way that the community embraced the return of the evening concert and fireworks sponsored by Woodley Town Council and came out in their hundreds to join the fun. The theme of "Wild West" really captured imaginations so we will continue to theme the carnival.
Next year will be bigger and better seeing the community come together and enjoy the event made the year of planning and organisation done completely by volunteers worthwhile, we would like to thank everyone that contributed to this year’s event to make it such a success, particularly our headline sponsors Woodleys Estate Agents and MCH vehicles for providing the lorries for the procession.
