The Oakwood center played host to the annual Woodley carnival queens competition on Friday May 19th. The room was full of excited young ladies and supportive families. The compare a previous Woodley Ambassador Bethany Anderson made the girls feel relaxed and interviewed them before they headed off for a chat with the judges.
This years event was kindly sponsored by the Eden lounge salon of Wokingham, who provided beautiful tiaras, some fantastic goody bags for the winners and runners up and also a small gift bag for every entrant. The head Judge Denise Winterbourne owner of the salon said the final decision was a difficult one as all the girls came across so well and were a pleasure to talk to.
The Carnival committee are very grateful to 360mediastudio who captured some beautiful images of the winners. The final results were, 2017 Carnival senior queen winner Chloe Wheeler aged 12, runner up Chiya Braithwaite aged 10, princess winner Eden Day aged 8 and runner up Evie Burrows also aged 8.
As part of the girls prize from Eden lounge salon they received a hair makeover on carnival day 10th June at the salon, they will then lead the procession through the streets of woodley in open topped classic cars arriving at the memorial ground at approx 14.30.
